I had a summer cooking party at my Grandma's house.  I invited three of my best friends.  Here we are in the picture above from left to right:  Bria, Paige, Me, and Rachelle.   I got to pick the menu, and we cooked lots of fun dishes for two days.   We got to make aprons with fabric paint; it was fun and they turned out really cute.  Here is the menu we planned:

Aprons

Dinner:

Caesar Salad

Grilled Hamburgers on

Homemade Hamburger Buns

Banana Splits with

Homemade Ice Cream &

Truffle Sauce

Breakfast:

Granola Parfaits

Sun-dried Tomato & Parmesan Bagels with

Sun-Dried Tomato & Garlic Cream Cheese

Lunch:

Chorizo and Cheese Quesadillas

Strawberry Lime Drink

The food was yummy!  We all had a lot of fun, and learned some new cooking skills.   I hope you make some of these fun recipes at your house.  I think it's a good idea to practice all of the dishes on your family before you invite friends over, so that you are familiar enough with the recipes that you don't make mistakes.   It's very important that you have an adult in the kitchen with you at all times while preparing the food because it would be easy to get burned, especially on the outdoor grill.   You will be using sharp knives to cut some of the ingredients, too.  And of course, make sure you review my Safety and Cleanliness Rules  before starting to cook.   Click on each recipe for instructions on how to make them.

Please email me at isabella@eclecticepicurean.com and let me know how your dishes turned out.  If you can, I'd love to see pictures of your food and of your friends eating it.
